Agricultural Service Connections – 2022-2023
In 2022–2023, 50,000 agricultural service connections were provided under the General category, covering 86,384 acres at Rs. 816 crore. Additionally, 902 services were affected under the Special Priority category. (Agriculture service connections)
Launch of "Minnagam" – State Level Centralized Customer Care Centre
“Minnagam,” a state-level centralized customer care center, was launched with the mobile number 94987 94987 for consumers to register complaints related to 37 types of electricity issues. This initiative aims to enhance customer service and streamline complaint resolution.
TANGEDCO Achieves Record Power Consumption and Demand
On 30th April 2023, TANGEDCO recorded an all-time high of 454.32 MU in daily power consumption. The peak demand reached 20,830 MW on 2nd May 2024, with uninterrupted power supply maintained 24/7. (Peak Reached )
Record Hydro Generation Achievement in 2022-2023
In the year 2022-2023, 6,174.08 MU of hydro generation was achieved, marking the highest generation in the last 10 years.
Record Performance at Valuthur Gas Station - I
On 8th December 2022, a remarkable PLF of 100.83% was achieved, while a station peak load of 97 MW was recorded on 4th December 2022 at 18:00 hrs, surpassing the rated capacity of 95 MW since the commissioning of Unit at Valuthur Gas Station - I.
Expansion of State-Owned Installed Capacity
To enhance the state's power capacity, five projects (thermal and hydro) are currently under progress, aimed at increasing the state-owned installed capacity.
TANGEDCO Receives “Best Exporter Award” for 2021-2022
TANGEDCO was awarded the “Best Exporter Award” by Paradip Port Authority for the financial year 2021-2022 for successfully handling 10.90 million MT of thermal coal.
Cost Savings Achieved by TANGEDCO in 2021-2022
During the financial year 2021-2022, TANGEDCO achieved savings of approximately Rs. 2,745 crore through cost-effective measures, including improved generation, efficient operation of existing plants, and reduction in interest payments.
Installation of Solar-Powered Street Lights at PEW Check Posts
Solar-powered street lights have been installed at twenty check posts of the Prohibition Enforcement Wing (PEW), enhancing energy efficiency and security at these locations.
